CUBO members vote for UPP as their winning partner

University Partnership Programme (UPP), nominated by Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has been named Business Partner of the Year at the College & University Business Officer (CUBO) awards. The award was voted for by members of CUBO, the professional association for senior managers in higher education.

In their nomination NTU highlighted the success of the ten year partnership between itself and UPP and its investment in the student experience. The redevelopment of NTU’s Students Union Building has resulted in a high quality design delivering exceptional facilities including over 900 high specification student bedrooms, a large scale music venue and a state of the art Student Union building. UPP’s close partnership with NTU is managed at board level, allowing issues to be resolved quickly and assisting in the strategic decision making process.

Furthermore, UPP’s active involvement in the NTU community brings a variety of benefits for students and local people. UPP supports NTU in ensuring that the university attracts and retains students whilst enhancing the student experience. Through a long term partnership with The Prince’s Trust UPP offers skills, training and employment workshops which help local people find jobs. The UPP ‘Get Into Construction’ and ‘Get Into FM’ schemes give young people the chance to access employability training, and CV workshops.

Commenting on the award Sean O’Shea, Chief Executive Officer, UPP Group said:
