UPP is delighted to announce that it has fought off stiff competition from across the world to scoop a prestigious award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The award demonstrates our commitment to health and safety excellence and our dedication to ensuring our colleagues, residents, customers and contractors get home safely at the end of the day.
This year, however, we’ve gone one better than our previous five wins, by being awarded a Commended in the Facilities Management Industry Sector. This award is presented in place of our current Gold award recognising an even higher level of achievement. This makes 2023 the sixth consecutive year that UPP has been awarded a RoSPA Gold award or higher.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK. Now into its 67th year, the Awards have almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and has a reach of over seven million employees. The programme recognises organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work, looking at the overarching health and safety management systems of entrants, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Head of Safety, Health and Wellbeing at UPP, Craig Cole, commented on the win:
“This award is testament to the work done by all our teams to put health and safety at the heart of everything we do. Receiving a commendation is the icing on the cake of a 6-year strong history of RoSPA excellence for UPP. Everyone who has played a part in this win should feel a great sense of pride and I’d like to thank all UPP colleagues for their tireless work.”
